A demand has emerged over the ongoing Teacher Recruitment 2025 process in Maharashtra. Candidates who have completed the selection process, document verification, administrative checks and counselling but are still awaiting appointment orders should be given them immediately, says the Yuva Shaikshanik Va Samajik Nyay Sanghatana, Maharashtra.

The organisation says the appointments of some already-selected candidates have been held up because of the model code of conduct in force due to the Maharashtra Legislative Council election. In other words, selection is complete, but the further process has stalled because of the code of conduct.

The organisation has demanded that, in line with the code of conduct, the Election Commission be approached for the necessary permission or clear guidelines regarding the appointment of candidates whose selection process and pre-appointment procedures are already complete, so that there is no legal hurdle to their appointment.

A representation on this has been submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra as well as the School Education Department. The organisation has requested that the concerned authorities act on the matter at the earliest so candidates do not have to wait any longer.

Sandeep Kamble, president of the Shaikshanik Va Samajik Nyay Sanghatana, said, "Candidates for teacher recruitment have completed all the necessary stages of the selection process. The government should therefore take the initiative to remove the uncertainty caused solely by the code of conduct. While fully respecting the code of conduct, clear guidelines should be obtained from the Election Commission and the further appointment process should be carried out as per the rules."

The question now is whether these selected candidates will get their appointments soon, and whether the government will take responsibility for the administrative delay. For now, the candidates are watching for the next steps from the government and the Election Commission.
