Tata Aeris new teaser out, launch set for September 25
Tata Motors has released a fresh teaser of its upcoming compact sedan Aeris ahead of its September 25 launch.
Tata Motors has released another teaser of its new compact sedan, the Tata Aeris, ahead of its launch. The car is set to launch on September 25, and the new teaser reveals significant details about the production model's exterior. With the Aeris nameplate, Tata is set to give its compact sedan segment a new look. Petrol, CNG and electric options are all expected to continue in the lineup.
The car's front profile shows major changes. Compared to the older Tigor, it gets slimmer headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. A larger lower air intake and a new bumper also give the front a distinct look. The new design is likely to make the front look more modern than before.
The rear design has also been revised. The bootlid carries Aeris badging, and the new teaser also shows sharp LED tail lamps. The bootlid and rear bumper are also expected to see changes. New U-shaped alloy wheels bring a clear difference to the side profile as well. These alloy wheels are expected to be offered on higher-priced variants.
Major changes are also expected in the interior. It may get a new dashboard along with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and an updated digital instrument cluster. A new steering wheel, a revised layout for the centre console, and some features found in Tata's latest models are also expected in the Aeris. Full details of these features will only be clear at the time of launch.
The petrol version is expected to retain the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron engine. The current unit produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. It is offered with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected to remain in the lineup.
An electric Aeris may also be launched alongside the ICE models. The current Tigor EV gets a 26 kWh battery, a 55 kW electric motor and 170 Nm of torque, with a certified range of up to 315 km. The Aeris EV is expected to get a higher-capacity battery and a better range on a single charge. However, full details on this will only be known after the September 25 launch.
