There is good news for young people preparing for government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the proposed schedule for three major recruitment examinations to be held in November and December 2026. They are the Junior Engineer (JE) exam, the recruitment of sub-inspectors in Delhi Police and the CAPF (CPO), and the CHSL (10+2) exam.

A total of 6,155 vacancies have been announced across the three examinations so far. The schedule is tentative, so it remains open to change.

The Junior Engineer exam comes first. SSC JE Paper-I will be held from November 2 to November 6, 2026, for 1,748 posts. These posts are in various central government departments and include Scientific Assistant posts in the weather department.

The SSC CPO exam, for sub-inspectors in Delhi Police and the CAPF, follows. It will be held between November 20 and November 28, 2026, for a total of 1,871 posts. These sub-inspector posts are in Delhi Police, the CAPF and the CISF.

The third is the SSC CHSL Tier-I exam, which will run the longest, from November 30 to December 31, 2026. It has the largest number of posts, 2,536, including Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant and Data Entry Operator.

Adding the posts for the three exams, 1,748, 1,871 and 2,536 together make 6,155. This is the figure the commission has announced for now.

The commission has made it clear that both the exam dates and the number of vacancies are tentative and may be revised depending on circumstances. Candidates have been asked to keep these dates in mind and continue their preparation in full earnest. They have also been asked to keep watching the official website for fresh notices so that they do not miss any change.
