A five-match T20 series is under way between India and West Indies, with three matches played so far. India have won two and West Indies one, so India lead the series 2-1.
The third match was played in Indore on October 11 and India won it by 14 runs. With that win, captain Shreyas Iyer broke a record held by former India captain M.S. Dhoni.

Iyer became India captain this year. Under him, India lost their first series, against Ireland. The team then suffered a humiliating defeat in a five-match T20 series against England. India then won a three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe and followed it with a 3-0 win over Afghanistan.
India then put in a strong performance at the 2026 Asian Games, beating Pakistan in the final to win the gold medal. India now hold a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20 series against West Indies.
