Shipping Corporation of India invites applications for Chief Manager (Legal) post in Mumbai

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI), Mumbai, has announced a recruitment drive in its September 2026 advertisement. There is a single vacancy, for the post of Chief Manager (Legal), and the job is based in Mumbai.

The post carries a monthly pay of Rs 80,000 to Rs 2,20,000. As a government company, it will also pay other allowances.

Candidates must hold a law degree, having completed a full-time LLB or LLM course with at least 60 per cent marks. Experience is also required, and those who have worked in the legal department of a large company will get preference.

Candidates must not be older than 45 years on August 1, 2026. SC, ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen will get age relaxation as per government rules, but the age after all relaxations combined must not exceed 50 years.

The application fee is Rs 1,000 for General, OBC and EWS candidates. For SC, ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen, the fee is Rs 500.

Applications must be made in two steps, both online and offline. Candidates must first fill in the form on the website www.shipindia.com. They must then print the form and send it with their documents to: Deputy General Manager SP-1, The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, 18th Floor, Shipping House, 245, Madame Cama Road, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021.

The last date to apply is October 13, 2026. Applications began in September 2026. Late applications will not be accepted.
