Mumbai: Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has again taken a hard line on his demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Dipke said the agitation will begin tomorrow, Friday, October 2, and will be taken across the country. A sit-in at Jantar Mantar will follow. According to him, the agitation will continue until Gyanesh Kumar resigns.

Dipke also warned Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said, "Do not make the mistake that Home Minister Amit Shah made during the Jantar Mantar agitation in Delhi." He added that Fadnavis should not repeat the mistake Shah made on July 20. Challenging the government, Dipke said, "If you want to arrest us, do it right now."

Dipke also targeted the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He demands that the 2025 SIR electoral roll be frozen. Criticising Gyanesh Kumar, Dipke also made serious allegations against him. These claims and allegations are Dipke's own. They cannot be taken as proven by the party concerned or by any official inquiry. The CJP has earlier raised questions on the SIR and the election process.

Dipke also raised the question of Shivaji Park. He asked, "If Devendra Fadnavis can hold a rally at Shivaji Park, why can't we hold an agitation there?" He said that if ruling leaders can get a venue for campaigning, the opposition's agitation should not be denied permission. In connection with the proposed agitation in Mumbai, he directly targeted Fadnavis, who is Home Minister as well as Chief Minister.

Dipke made it clear that the agitation will go ahead even if permission is not granted. He said, "We are agitating through democratic means." The CJP has earlier held agitations on several issues.

Dipke also announced that the CJP will support the October 4 agitation as well. According to him, Aaditya Thackeray has also backed this agitation. Dipke will be on a tour of the country and will not be present in Mumbai, but he said CJP workers will join the October 4 agitation in Mumbai.
