Sanjay Raut hits back at Rane family, cites old Kankavli killings
Countering Nitesh Rane's demand for Aditya Thackeray's arrest, Sanjay Raut invoked two decades of unsolved killings in Kankavli
After minister Nitesh Rane made serious allegations against Aditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian case and demanded his arrest, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut hit back at a press conference. Raut said the ongoing media coverage of Aditya Thackeray had become a publicity issue for some people, alleging that an attempt was being made to gain fame by flinging mud.
Raut asked whether others had honour but he did not. He said someone was acting as a puppet in another person's hands to malign Aditya Thackeray, and warned that if his patience ran out, he too would speak up.
Raut then referred to killings in Kankavli over the past 20 years, naming Govekar, Ankush Rane, Satyavijay Bhise and Naik among those who had been killed. He said sharply that those with blood on their hands and blood on their tongues needed power precisely to digest and suppress these killings.
Raut raised several questions: who killed Naik, who killed Satyavijay Bhise, who was the real killer of Ankush Rane, and who kidnapped and killed Govekar. He said that had these cases been investigated impartially, these people would not have survived today. He alleged that these cases were suppressed and that the CBI, Maharashtra Police and investigating agencies have now been bought. Raut also said the High Court has clearly stated that there is currently no accused in the Disha Salian case and no one can be targeted, yet some people were still playing this game.
Raut questioned whether it was not a matter of Thackeray's reputation and honour that mud was being flung at him while someone else acted as a puppet-master. He said this was the doing of a few intoxicated and self-serving people who had come together and were now being controlled by someone. He said the young woman's death was tragic, but Aditya Thackeray, who never met her and had no connection to her, was being maligned over her death. According to Raut, despite it being clear that no one can be targeted in this case, these self-serving people were conspiring for money to defame Thackeray.
