The political climate in the country is heated these days. The INDIA bloc is preparing a agitation against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Amid this, Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut has made a big claim about the Modi government at the Centre.

Opposition leaders are said to be claiming that the Modi government will fall in the next six months and that new leadership will replace Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Raut has backed this claim. His statement has caused a stir in political circles. Opposition parties and student organisations across the country are also strongly objecting to the Central government, it was said.

Raut was asked who would become Prime Minister in place of Modi. He hinted that he could name the person but would not do so now. He said, "Regime change means regime change." The remark further fuelled talk of a change of leadership at the Centre.

Raut then sharply criticised the state government over the drought situation in Maharashtra. He said, "We have seen the drought of 1972. Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister then. The situation today is even more serious." Raut also said drought had never before been declared in the Konkan, and that this alone showed how grave the situation was.

Raut claimed the state needs about Rs 50,000 crore to deal with the drought. He alleged that farmers are being handed only Rs 5,000.

Raut also raised questions about the use of money in elections. He alleged that money is being spent on a large scale in elections and named the BJP, the Shinde faction and Sunetra Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party. He claimed that Rs 25 crore to Rs 30 crore was spent in the Someshwar cooperative sugar factory election. He also alleged that gifts and cash are distributed in the teachers' and graduates' constituency elections.

Raut demanded that the Chief Minister disclose where the ruling side gets so much money. He also alleged that the state is being looted through contractors. Raut's remarks are being discussed in political circles on two counts: the talk of a leadership change at the Centre, and his attacks on the state government over the drought.
