Royal Enfield has launched the 125th Anniversary Edition of the Classic 650 in India to celebrate 125 years of its journey. The ex-showroom price of the special motorcycle has been set at Rs 4,25,589. The edition is named 'Hypershift'.

Its most striking feature is the paint finish, which appears to change colour with the angle of light. The company has limited production of the bike to just 125 units in each major global market, which could make it a collector's edition for Royal Enfield enthusiasts.

The Hypershift paint shows hints of red, green and gold, and the colour of the fuel tank appears different with the light and the viewing angle. According to the company, the design is inspired by the brass look of its first motorcycles of 1901.

The Classic 650's teardrop fuel tank and headlamp nacelle have been retained. A special cannon decal on the tank, a golden crest on the side panels, anniversary badging and hand-painted pinstripes add to the look. A brown leather single seat with quilted stitching gives it a vintage touch.

The motorcycle is powered by a 647.95 cc inline twin-cylinder, four-stroke SOHC engine. It produces 46.4 hp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm, and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. Riders who want a powerful engine with old-style looks may like the bike.

The frame is a steel tubular spine. It has 43 mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 300 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS standard on both wheels. The front wheel is 19 inches and the rear is 18 inches.

The seat height is 800 mm, ground clearance is 154 mm and the weight is 243 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 14.7 litres, and a USB Type-C charging port is also provided.

According to the company, registration will begin at 2 pm on October 16, 2026. Sales are scheduled from October 28 and deliveries will begin in November. The on-road price may vary with the city and registration charges.
