Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 spotted in three colours with almost no camouflage
Royal Enfield's upcoming flagship adventure motorcycle was photographed in white, light grey and red-black, showing production-spec bodywork and touring gear.
Royal Enfield's upcoming adventure motorcycle, the Himalayan 750, is in the news again. This time it has been photographed almost entirely without camouflage, in three different colours: white, light grey and red-black. The motorcycle will be Royal Enfield's new flagship adventure bike.
Production-spec bodywork, lighting and touring accessories are clearly visible on all three bikes. As a result, much about the motorcycle's final design is now known.
On the colours, the white model carries orange and red graphics. The grey version has a simple, premium look. The red-black model has dark lower panels and contrast stripes. All three bikes show a tall windscreen, a large fuel tank and a long touring seat. Two of the bikes are also fitted with large soft panniers and a big luggage rack at the rear.
The Himalayan 750 will get upside-down front forks and twin disc brakes at the front. Wire-spoke wheels and dual-purpose tyres will also be retained. Earlier test mules were seen with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. The Himalayan 450 has a 21-inch front wheel, so the 750 could be a more road-biased touring motorcycle by comparison.
The Himalayan 750 is likely to get a parallel-twin engine of about 750 cc. The engine is estimated to produce 55 to 60 bhp of power and 60 to 65 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox and a slipper-assist clutch are also likely to be standard. These are expected to improve both performance and comfort on long-distance rides.
The motorcycle could also see big changes in features. It may get a TFT instrument console, ride-by-wire, cruise control and a monoshock with preload adjustment.
The global debut of the motorcycle is likely in the next few months, and sales in India could begin after that. Positioned above the Himalayan 450, it will be the new flagship option in Royal Enfield's adventure range.
