Reliance Industries executive director Anant Ambani has announced a major investment for Andhra Pradesh. He said the company will invest Rs 1 lakh crore in setting up compressed biogas (CBG) plants in the state. The announcement is expected to speed up development in the state, and the benefit is said to reach not only industry but also young people in the form of jobs.

The investment is said to create more than 3 lakh jobs and bring the state an estimated Rs 60,000 crore in revenue.

Ambani was speaking at the foundation-stone ceremony of the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture at Madanapalle. He said Reliance would work with the government and farmers to support the new institution.

Ambani said, "Today, with an investment of Rs 40,000 crore, the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub is going to become another milestone in India's growth story." He described the Indian School of Agriculture as a new institution that will focus on technology and the prosperity of farmers.

Addressing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Ambani said, "Twenty-five years ago, you brought the Indian School of Business, ISB, to Hyderabad. Today, you are giving the Indian farmer his own ISB." He added, "India has given the world many CEOs. Now ISA will make the Indian farmer the CEO of his farm."

According to Ambani, the school will be a meeting point of artificial intelligence and traditional farming knowledge. It will include pest alerts, drones to map crop health, robotics, cloud computing, market intelligence and greenhouse technology.

Ambani said, "Through Reliance's green energy business, I see a chance to help turn our 'annadatas' into 'urjadatas'." He added, "Our farmers, who ensure India's food security, will now also strengthen India's energy security. This will make India self-reliant in energy."
