Rajura man booked for violating externment order during Ganesh immersion
Police in Rajura booked a man for breaching an externment order issued to maintain peace during the Ganesh immersion procession.
A case has been registered against a young man at Rajura police station for violating an externment order issued to maintain peace and order in the area during the Ganesh immersion procession. The accused has been identified as Baldevsingh alias Lalli Shergill. The Additional Superintendent of Police had ordered him not to stay in or enter the area between September 24 and 27. He was spotted in the area by the crime detection team during patrolling, following which action was taken against him.
According to information received, to maintain law and order in the city amid the sensitive atmosphere of Ganeshotsav, the Additional Superintendent of Police-cum-Special Executive Magistrate, Chandrapur, under an order dated September 21, 2026, had issued an externment order barring this person from staying in or entering the jurisdiction of Rajura police station for the period September 24 to 27, 2026. This prohibitory order was served on the accused in person on September 23, and he was clearly told that he had to stay outside the limits.
Despite this, on September 25, 2026, at around 5:15 pm, the crime detection team of Rajura police station was patrolling the Rampur area when the accused, Baldevsingh, was found sitting in the porch in front of his rented house in Rampur. Police questioned him in the presence of witnesses, but he could not give any concrete or legal reason for staying within the limits.
Considering the threat to security and the possibility of breach of peace from his staying within the limits during the Ganesh immersion in violation of the government order, police prepared a panchnama in the presence of witnesses and took him into custody. Based on a complaint by Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Lokare, a case (FIR No. 0746/2026) has been registered against the accused Baldevsingh Shergill at Rajura police station under Section 223 (disobedience of an order promulgated by a public servant) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Police Head Constable Anup Dange is investigating the case further under the guidance of Police Station in-charge Inspector Nitinkumar Chincholkar.
