Rajura Congress pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversary
The Rajura Assembly Congress paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at its public relations office in Gondpipri.
Gondpipri: The Rajura Assembly Congress paid humble tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Prime Minister of India, on their birth anniversary. Gandhi showed the world the path of humanity through truth, non-violence and satyagraha, and Shastri gave the inspiring message of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan".
The programme was held at the Rajura Assembly Congress's public relations office near the tehsil office. The event was marked by enthusiasm.
Presided over by Arunbhau Dhote, coordinator of the Rajura Assembly Congress and city president, the gathering remembered the two leaders by garlanding their portraits. Gandhi's ideas of truth, non-violence, self-reliance and social equality were recalled. Tributes were also paid to Shastri's simplicity, honesty and service to the nation.
Present at the programme were Arunbhau Dhote, Congress taluka president Ranjan Lande, Agricultural Produce Market Committee chairman Tirupati Indurwar, former chairman Vikas Deolkar, municipal council chairman Anantkumar Tajne, Poonam Girsawale, councillors Ejaz Ahmed and Indubai Nikode. Kurmdas Pawde, secretary of the Senior Citizens' Association, also attended, along with Shivram Lande, Kawadu Satpute, Dhanraj Chincholkar, Roshan Lande, Mateen Qureshi, Shakir Sayyed, Ashok Rao, Madhukar Jhade, Sayyed Sabir, Vasanta Tajne, Dharmu Nagrale and Ghanshyam Khanke. Congress office-bearers, workers and a large number of ordinary citizens were also present.
