Pune's Sarthak Chavan, 19, to race at Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Sunday

Sarthak Chavan, a 19-year-old racer from Pune, is ready to take to the track once again. He will compete for the Petronas TVS Racing Team in the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W-2026. The event will be held at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Sunday, November 1.

The second round of the championship was held in September. In it, Sarthak won two races in a row in the main class, Super Sport 301-400cc Open, to take the double crown. He also finished first in the Electric RTE class of the Petronas TVS Racing One-Make Championship, completing a triple crown.

Speaking ahead of the contest, Sarthak said that winning the title in the previous round had added to his sense of responsibility. According to him, he wants to perform well again, but he does not feel any pressure because of it. He said he is very satisfied with his performance. His whole focus, he said, is on staying mentally alert and continuing to work on the essentials.

Sarthak trains under coach Amol Talpade. He is also receiving guidance from fitness coach Mihir Terneekar.

Earlier, in the TVS Racing International Championship category of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), Sarthak reached the podium in the first round of the season, held in Malaysia. The second round followed in May at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. He was considered a main contender for the title there and proved that claim with his performance.

At the event at the Madras International Circuit, Sarthak also won the Super Sport 301-400cc title. Riding for the Petronas TVS Racing Team, he secured a dramatic win in the final round with strong moves. A six-round race was held on August 16. In it, Sarthak ran third for most of the time, behind fellow racers Chirant Vishwanath of Bengaluru and Rahil Pillarisetty of Hyderabad. In the final round, Sarthak overtook both of them and moved ahead.
