The model registration office started in Pune on the idea of revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has become an example for the whole country. The Department of Land Resources under the Union Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has taken serious note of the office's utility and has now directed that similar offices be started across the country on the same lines.

Narendra Bhushan, secretary of the Department of Land Resources, said every new office set up on these lines across the country will be given a grant of Rs 50 lakh. A review meeting was held via video conferencing, chaired by Bhushan, with inspectors general of registration from all states regarding the proposed "Central Registration Bill, 2026". Maharashtra's Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps, Ravindra Binwade, and Deputy Inspector General Rajendra Muthe also took part in the meeting. The meeting saw a long discussion on the provisions of the proposed bill, its likely impact and the reforms underway at the state level, along with suggestions from various states.

Officials said that under the guidance of revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the Department of Registration and Stamps has been implementing several new schemes to increase revenue while also providing people with easy, transparent and effective service. Following this, all states have been asked to adopt such new initiatives. The central secretary particularly praised the Maharashtra registration and stamps department's schemes such as "One District, One Registration", "E-Pramaan", the "Model Office" built on the lines of passport offices, and "E-Registration".

The new offices will offer people several facilities. There will be personal guidance at a help desk from entry to filling out forms, and digital tokens with direct screen display will do away with long queues. There will be an air-conditioned waiting hall with sofas, free high-speed Wi-Fi for everyone, clean toilets, drinking water and tea-coffee facilities. Slot booking will make registration much faster, documents will be checked in advance to correct errors, high-speed scanning will create digital records instantly, the latest biometric system will verify identity quickly, and registration along with the receipt will be completed the same day.

Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Digital India" vision, he remains committed to providing people more convenient and technology-based services going forward. He said the Centre has taken note of this model office started in Pune on the initiative of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which proves the office's utility.
