Solapur MP Praniti Shinde also raised water, health and SIR concerns at a press conference on Tuesday, and demanded Gyanesh Kumar's resignation.

Solapur MP Praniti Shinde raised sharp questions about the BJP and the ruling side at a press conference on Tuesday, November 3. Issuing a direct challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP, she said, "If you have the courage, resign and hold elections on ballot paper."

The political climate is heated across the country over various issues. On one side, the Congress is taking an aggressive stand against the ruling side and the working of the Election Commission. On the other, the BJP is accusing the opposition, including the Congress, of spreading anarchy. Amid this, Shinde took on the BJP and the ruling side over several Solapur issues.

Speaking on the proposed AI data centre project in Solapur, she opposed it strongly. She raised the issue of water, claiming the project would need large quantities of it. She asked what the situation would be after the project, when the people of Solapur already get water only once in six days.

Shinde also voiced fear that the biodiversity of the Ujani area would be affected. She said there was no guarantee that the project would provide jobs to local youth. She also raised questions about the nature of the project and its financial dealings. She made it clear that the Maha Vikas Aghadi would present its stand together on the AI data centre issue.

On health services in Solapur, she alleged that the Mahalab and dialysis centres have been shut since November 1. She said the government owes more than Rs 1,000 crore. She also raised the question of patients' health.

The ruling side is holding a march under the slogan "Save the Constitution, rise against anarchy". Shinde took a dig at this, remarking that those who lathi-charged young students are now talking about saving democracy. She also alleged that people are being given targets for bringing crowds to the march.

Questioning the SIR process, she demanded the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar. She challenged that, if they had the courage, elections should be held on ballot paper after resigning. She also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold an open debate with Rahul Gandhi.

According to Shinde, the Maha Vikas Aghadi will take a common stand on the AI data centre. Political confrontation over the Solapur project is therefore likely to intensify in the coming days.
