Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) president Adv. Prakash Ambedkar has appealed to the Dalit, OBC and Adivasi communities to build their own media. He made the appeal in a video shared on his X account.
A movement led by the Cockroach Janta Party is under way at present in the state and in the national capital, Delhi. It demands the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Strong protests were also seen against the leaking of papers for the MPSC, UPSC and NEET. Large numbers of students are taking part, and thousands of them have taken to the streets to fight for justice and their rights.
Ambedkar said, "For the last few months I have been seeing that television, newspapers and political parties have completely stopped paying attention to Dalits, OBCs or Adivasis. They are not getting space anywhere." In his view, this is a way of denying these groups or erasing their existence. He said that if these people do not come before the public, people will forget them, and that this is a complete method in itself.
He also raised questions about the movement. The agitation is being run under the leadership of the Cockroach Janta Party, but in this campaign against Gyanesh Kumar, the Leader of the Opposition, BSP president Mayawati and Chandrashekhar Azad were nowhere to be seen. They were not seen expressing support either. Ambedkar asked whether people had felt this or not.
For this reason, he appealed that people must build their own media, and only then can they save their existence. Whether through voting or through social media, they must build their own identity.
In the video, Ambedkar made this appeal to all OBC, Adivasi, Dalit and Buddhist communities and asked whether they had felt this or not.
