Marathi television actress Pooja Birari is facing trolling these days. A few months ago, Pooja married Soham Bandekar, son of Adesh Bandekar, known as Maharashtra's "Ladke Bhausaheb". After the wedding she became part of the Bandekar family. Both Suchitra Bandekar and Adesh Bandekar praise their daughter-in-law. In interviews and at events, both speak warmly about Pooja. Pooja too has settled fully into the household.

Since the wedding, however, people have been taunting her about her profession.

According to Pooja, people have begun to feel she no longer has anything to worry about. The Bandekar family runs a big production house and has a name, so she will get work at once. She need not audition and will be cast straight into a serial. On sets too, people used to tell her, "What do you have to worry about now?" Pooja has now spoken openly for the first time on all this trolling, in an interview to It's Majja.

Pooja said, "I have felt this on the set too. People say, what tension do you have, the Bandekars have such a big name, they have a production house, so you don't need to audition anywhere. Artistes feel that she is the daughter-in-law of the production house, so she will get work at once. But the production people say something different. They say we are not the ones who decide this. The channel also has its say. It is decided after looking at what the character is like and who fits it. Nobody can cast anyone just by looking at the name. That is only what people think."

She went on to say that if an audition were held tomorrow in her own family's production, she would go and audition like a complete professional. In her words, "I would be nervous at that audition too. Is mine going well? Is it coming out right? I will feel that tension as well. And one thing I know for certain is that I will get no leniency there. On the contrary, the responsibility will be greater. I too feel the work of our own production should not suffer because of me. If I am right for the role, fine, otherwise I will not get that work. Nothing works through force anywhere. And even if it is tried, it comes to an end."

Pooja also said, "In the end, you have to look in the mirror and answer to yourself. In our home we are very professional about this. One thing is certain, I get very good guidance. In this respect I am very fortunate."

Pooja's words suggest that although the Bandekars share one home, everyone is professional when it comes to work. Having a daughter-in-law in the house does not mean she will be taken into a serial at once. She too has to audition and work hard to get roles. She has answered the trolls with great calm and good sense. She wanted to say that marriage does not mean her career has become easy; her responsibility has grown.
