Police hunt three suspects in Shirur bar owner killing

Hari alias Harish Dadasaheb Gangawane, 33, a bar owner in Shirur, Pune, was shot dead Friday morning in Late Ali-Ambedkar Nagar area.

A 33-year-old bar owner, Hari alias Harish Dadasaheb Gangawane, was shot dead at close range in the Late Ali-Ambedkar Nagar area of Shirur town in Pune district on Friday morning. Police suspect an old dispute over a bar bill to be the motive behind the attack.

According to authorities, Gangawane had a dispute with two of the suspects, Rohit Ravindra Sonawane and Aniket Vilas Gavhane, around six months prior over a bill at his bar, during which he allegedly assaulted them. Tensions flared up again during a Ganesh festival event, leading to an ambush on Friday morning as Gangawane and his friends were leaving on a motorcycle. Sonawane allegedly fired shots from close range, and Gangawane succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to Pune for advanced medical care.

Three police teams have been deployed to track down the absconding suspects: Rohit Ravindra Sonawane, Aniket Vilas Gavhane, and Aditya Pintu Pawar.
