Glenn Phillips struck 107 off 49 balls, with six fours and ten sixes, to set India a target of 260 in the fourth T20 of the series.

New Zealand won the fourth match of the T20 series against India by 87 runs. The hero of the win was Glenn Phillips, who reached his century in just 46 balls and troubled the Indian bowlers throughout.

New Zealand batted first but did not get off to a good start, slipping to 93 for three. Phillips came in at number four, steadied the innings and then attacked. He scored 107 off 49 balls, including six fours and ten sixes, at a strike rate of 218.37. He also put on a 115-run partnership with Michael Bracewell. India were set a target of 260.

With this hundred, Phillips became the third fastest batter to score a T20 international century for New Zealand. His first century was also scored in just 46 balls. The fastest T20 international hundred for New Zealand belongs to Finn Allen, who scored a century off just 33 balls against South Africa in Kolkata during the 2026 T20 World Cup.

New Zealand's fastest T20 international centuries, by balls faced, are: Finn Allen against South Africa, 33 balls, Kolkata 2026; Glenn Phillips against West Indies, 46 balls, Mount Maunganui 2020; Glenn Phillips against India, 46 balls, Auckland 2026; Colin Munro against West Indies, 47 balls, Mount Maunganui 2018.

Phillips set another record with the innings. He is now the highest run-scorer in a T20 international series against India, with 276 runs so far in this series. He broke the record of West Indies captain Shai Hope, who recently scored 261 runs in a T20 international series against India in India.

The third record is that Phillips became the first New Zealand batter to score more than 50 three times in a T20 series against India. He has crossed fifty for the third time in this series. No New Zealand batter had done so before him.
