Paraglider hits high-voltage wire, catches fire mid-air in viral video

A video of a terrifying mid-air accident is being widely shared on social media, showing visuals disturbing enough to unsettle viewers.

The video shows a man paragliding and attempting to land on the ground, but high-voltage power lines are strung out below. Seeing the electric pole, the man prepares to land, but during the attempt he comes into contact with the power line. As soon as he touches the wire, there is a loud explosion and he begins falling towards the ground. Notably, the man collides with the power lines not once but several times, which is why his chances of survival are being described as very low.

The video also shows a large explosion and a fireball forming in the air the moment he hits the wire. It has not been confirmed exactly where this accident took place. There is also no official information at present on the man's condition or whether he survived the accident.

The video was shared from an X account named @alfuratyalatiqe. The caption accompanying the video gives details of the incident, and it has received 35,400 views so far. People are reacting heavily to the video, with a flood of comments in the comments section.

One user commented that it was hard to tell whether the video was made using AI or was real. Another user wrote that paragliding is never done near power lines. Yet another user commented that they believed the video was not real but AI-generated.
