Depositors turned up in large numbers at the 37th annual general meeting of Nirmal Ujjwal Credit Cooperative Society, held at Anusaya Sabhagriha in Jagnade Chowk, Nagpur. They had hoped the meeting would finally bring a clear and firm answer on the return of their deposits. But once the meeting ended, they were left with nothing but more waiting.

The society's founder, Pramod Manmode, was present at the meeting. Depositors repeatedly asked when and how they would get their deposits back. In response, Manmode asked depositors for another 45 to 60 days and then left the meeting. This has left depositors facing the same big question as before: when will they actually get their money back.

For those who have been waiting a long time for their deposits, this additional 45 to 60 day period is adding to their worry. Depositors who attended the meeting had expected a firm payment date or deadline to be announced, but after the request for more time, they will have to wait again.

The agenda for the annual general meeting included several financial matters such as the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, budget, allocation of profits, the society's borrowing limit, and the statutory auditor's report. But for depositors, the biggest issue remained the return of their deposits. All eyes were on this question during the meeting, with everyone hoping for answers and clarity.

Depositors are now watching the next 45 to 60 days closely. The question is not just how much more time will pass, but whether payments actually begin within the timeframe that has been sought.

For now, the ball is in the society's court. It remains to be seen whether the 45 to 60 days sought by Pramod Manmode brings relief to depositors or whether their wait stretches on once again.
