The Election Commission of India has released the full schedule for the biennial election to the Nagpur graduates' constituency. Voting for this Maharashtra Legislative Council seat will be held on October 23, 2026. With the announcement, the model code of conduct has come into force in the districts of the Nagpur division.

In Chandrapur district, Collector Vasumana Pant has directed all concerned departments to strictly follow the code of conduct. She was speaking at a review meeting of nodal officers at the Collector's office.

Collector Pant said at the meeting that every department must carry out its assigned election responsibilities with great care and seriousness, without any lapses. She said everyone must ensure the model code of conduct is not violated.

Collector Pant also clarified that drought relief measures and damage assessment surveys are exempt from the code of conduct, so survey work should not be stopped. She said Static Surveillance Teams and Flying Squad Teams would be deployed on the district border. She also asked officials to inspect polling booths now and carry out any minor repairs needed.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Akunuri Naresh, Additional Superintendent of Police Ishwar Katkade, Deputy District Election Officer Sanjeev Deshmukh, Resident Deputy Collector Dagdu Kumbhar, Deputy Collectors Sanjay Pawar and Shubham Dandekar, and Municipal Administration Officer Dr Vidya Gaikwad. All sub-divisional officers and tehsildars of the district joined the meeting via video conference.

As per the election schedule, the notification will be issued on September 29, 2026. The last date for filing nominations is October 6, and scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 7. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 9. Voting will be held on October 23, followed by counting of votes on October 27. The entire election process is to be completed before October 31, 2026.
