Nag Vidarbha Chamber holds revenue camp, free health checkups in Nagpur
Traders' body launches Maharashtra's Seva Paramodharma drive in Nagpur with a document camp and a free full body checkup camp at Vardhaman Nagar.
The Maharashtra government launched a statewide campaign called Seva Paramodharma from September 17, on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, aimed at ensuring central and state government schemes reach the common man. In Nagpur, the campaign was launched by the Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, the top body of 1.3 million traders in Vidarbha.
The chamber, along with the Nagpur city tehsil office and the Punjab Seva Samiti, Punjab Seva Samaj, Shri Badi Marwadi Maheshwari Panchayat, Shri Kutch Patidar Samaj, Pujya Lakadganj Sindhi Panchayat, Shri Vardhaman Nagar Jain Samaj, Shri Maheshwari Yuvak Sangh and Pujya Panchayat Quetta Samaj, held the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajasva Samadhan Shibir on September 22, 2026. A free full body health checkup camp was also organised by Max Super Specialty Hospital. Both were held at Pritam Bhavan, C.A. Road, Vardhaman Nagar Chowk.
Chief guests at the event were MLA Krishna Khopde, MLA Sanjay Bhende, Nagpur city SDO Sachin Kumawat, Nagpur city Tehsildar Santosh Khandare, former MLA Girish Vyas, and BJP Nagpur city president and former mayor Dayashankar Tiwari. Also present were chamber president Farooq Akbani, former chamber president and Maharashtra Chemist president Dipen Agrawal, former chamber president Ashwin Prakash Mehadia, IPP Arjundas Ahuja, secretary CA Hemant Sarda, treasurer Sachin Puniyani, NMC education committee chairperson and corporator Santosh Ladda, and corporator Balya Rarokar. Punjab Seva Samiti president Sushil Jham, Punjab Seva Samaj president Omprakash Madan, Shri Badi Marwadi Maheshwari Panchayat secretary Ramavtar Totla, Pujya Lakadganj Sindhi Panchayat chairman Pradeep Panjwani, Shri Vardhaman Nagar Jain Samaj president Ashok Baidmuthaa, Shri Maheshwari Yuvak Sangh president Jitendra Maheshwari, Pujya Panchayat Quetta Samaj president Tilak Ahuja, Wholesale Cloth and Yarn Merchant Association president Narayan Toshniwal and Dal Mill Association's Yogesh Bhojwani were also present.
The camp was organised by Rakesh Gandhi, camp convener and a member of the chamber's executive committee, who also convenes the chamber's government scheme sub-committee. The event began with the chief guests offering flowers to idols at the temple in Pritam Bhavan, followed by garlanding a portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and lighting a lamp. Chamber office-bearers welcomed all guests with the chamber's special stole and a peacock feather plant.
Chamber president Farooq Akbani said the chamber is the only trade body in Maharashtra organising such camps, and that this was the sixth camp held in different assembly constituencies of the city. Secretary CA Hemant Sarda said he was glad the Seva Paramodharma campaign was being launched in Nagpur through the chamber on the prime minister's birthday, and that the chamber always tries to ensure maximum benefit of government schemes reaches traders and the public. He said more such camps would be held in future.
MLA Krishna Khopde, MLA Sanjay Bhende, SDO Sachin Kumawat, former MLA Girish Vyas, Dayashankar Tiwari and Dipen Agrawal, among other guests, thanked the chamber for the camp and demanded that similar camps be held in other parts of the city, especially in slum areas. The chief guests honoured convener Rakesh Gandhi for successfully organising six consecutive camps under the chamber's banner.
Work done at the camp included Aadhaar cards, ration cards, PAN cards, new Ayushman cards, Ayushman card e-KYC, MSRTC bus ticket cards, labour cards, residence certificates, senior citizen cards, domicile certificates, Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana cards, gazette notifications, EWS certificates, non-criminal certificates, voter cards and caste certificates, besides work related to the RTO office, city survey and NIT. Those who underwent the free full body health checkup by Max Super Specialty Hospital were also given gift items. At the end of the event, chamber secretary Hemant Sarda thanked all the organisations and guests present.
