The Maharashtra Public Service Commission has put out a corrigendum adding 21 cadres to the exam scheme for its Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Examination.

Twenty-one new cadres have been added to the examination scheme of the Maharashtra Group-C Services Combined Examination conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. The corrigendum has been uploaded to the commission's website.

The commission had issued the scheme for this examination on May 20, 2026. Article 1.1 of that scheme listed six cadres. Now, in line with a Government Resolution of the General Administration Department dated May 5, 2026, all Group-C cadres for which the commission has already received requisitions have been brought into the scheme. The list of these 21 cadres is given in Appendix No. 1.

Other cadres requiring the same educational qualification will also be treated as part of this scheme if their requisitions reach the commission by the time the preliminary examination results are declared. The age limit for both existing and newly added cadres will remain as laid down in Article 3.2 of the scheme issued on May 20, 2026. Changes will apply in line with decisions the government issues from time to time.

The process for the preliminary examination result has also been revised. For cadres requiring a general educational qualification, the number of candidates eligible for the main examination will be decided by two things: the option a candidate has given in the application, and the total number of open and reserved posts to be filled. A common result will then be declared on the basis of marks in the combined preliminary examination. For cadres requiring a special educational qualification, the result will be declared separately.

The format of the main examination has also been changed. A combined main examination will be held for the administrative cadres of Group-C services with a general educational qualification, as per the prescribed examination scheme and syllabus. Cadres with a special educational qualification and the newly added cadres will have a separate main examination.

If a single common main examination is held for more than one cadre, candidates will be asked, as required, for their cadre or service option and order of preference. The provision relating to the waiting list has also been revised.

The commission has said in a press release that any change in the remaining conditions of the examination scheme will be notified on its website from time to time.
