Youth waves sword at Nagpur mobile shop owner over repair dispute, arrested
A 25-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening a shopkeeper with a sword in Nagpur's Pardi area over a mobile repair dispute; a video went viral.
A minor dispute over mobile repair in Nagpur's Pardi area escalated to the point of a sword being drawn. A youth is alleged to have gone to a mobile shop with a sword, threatened the shopkeeper with death and swung the blade near his throat. The incident caused alarm in the area. A video of it is also going viral on social media.
The incident is reported to have taken place at about 1:30 pm on September 30 at Pawan Mobile Shoppe in Bhatti Chowk, under Pardi police station limits. According to police, a dispute broke out over mobile repair between shopkeeper Pawan Ghumde and Suraj Pravin Waghmare.
It is alleged that Waghmare pulled out a sword during the argument. He then allegedly hurled abuse at the shopkeeper, threatened to kill him and tried to spread terror by swinging the sword near his throat. Someone filmed the incident, and the video went viral on social media.
Pardi police have registered a case under the relevant sections for assault. Police later arrested the accused, 25-year-old Suraj Waghmare. Police are investigating the entire matter.
