Mika Singh on 2006 Rakhi Sawant kiss row: I was young then, had no sense
Singer Mika Singh said he was young and lacked sense during the 2006 kissing controversy with actor Rakhi Sawant, and that they are good friends today.
Bollywood actor Rakhi Sawant often makes news for one reason or another, and her videos frequently go viral on social media. She is in the spotlight again, this time over an old kissing controversy involving her and singer Mika Singh's remarks on it.
In 2006, Mika Singh kissed Rakhi Sawant at her birthday party. The incident led to a major controversy at the time, and the two remained at odds for a long while. Mika was recently asked about his past controversies during a podcast.
Mika said, "My controversies don't resurface. If I kissed someone once, I would not kiss them 10 times." Speaking about his controversies, he also said, "Even after so many controversies, I am number 1."
Asked whether he had deliberately created the kissing controversy with Rakhi Sawant, he replied, "I was young at that time and I had no sense." Mika added that he focused on his career after the controversies and remains successful today.
Asked about the dispute with Rakhi Sawant, Mika claimed, "That controversy was started by Rakhi Sawant." He added, however, that the two share a good friendship today. According to Mika, he talks to Rakhi every day and is a big fan of hers. He also praised her popularity.
In his praise, Mika said that today someone may win Bigg Boss and be forgotten by the next year. But Rakhi Sawant is a personality the whole country knows. Mika said, "You can hate her, you can love her, but you cannot ignore her."
Mika also said Rakhi has said many times that Mika benefited because of her. In Mika's view, however, the success Rakhi has achieved is due to her own qualities. He said that the moment the camera is on, Rakhi draws everyone's attention.
In the same interview, Mika also mentioned comedian Samay Raina. He said he had messaged Samay to say he did not much like his work or shows as a comedian. But according to Mika, Samay plays the guitar very well.
Samay Raina then video-called Mika and played the guitar for him. Mika also narrated this episode during the interview.
