Marathi film Sahal, set on a school trip to Ganpatipule, gets trailer; releases October 9
The trailer of the Marathi film Sahal, built around a school trip to Ganpatipule, has been released, and the film reaches theatres on October 9.
School trips bring back memories of fun, laughter and countless moments with friends. A story built around one such trip will now reach the big screen in the Marathi film Sahal. The trailer was released recently, and the film will open in theatres on October 9.
Sahal is about a group of schoolchildren on a trip to Ganpatipule. The trip needs money. The story shows the tensions in the students' lives, quarrels over girls and parents refusing to pay for the trip, among other things.
The innocence, understanding and misunderstandings of school days, the exuberance of that age and the attraction towards girls can all be relived through the story, the makers say.
Parents, teachers and surroundings play an important part in shaping children. The film therefore does not only show children's fun but will also speak of their inner world. The makers say the story will remind viewers who are now parents of their own school days.
The film is produced under the banner of K. Swamini Film Production. Mukund Vasant Khuperkar has written and directed it. Prashant Kesarkar and Vilas Kesarkar are the producers, while Mukund Vasant Khuperkar is co-producer.
The lead roles are played by Devika Daftardar, Siddhesh Mukund Khuperkar, Kalyani Adsul, Aditya Khuperkar, Prajwal Sutar, Sejal Kore, Sachin More, Shivaji Patil and Ravi Kadam.

The cinematography is by Abhishek Shete and the editing by Chandrashekhar Gurav. Dr Jay Bhim Shinde has composed the music for lyrics written by Suhas Munde and Sameer Pathan. The songs have been recorded in the voice of popular singer Adarsh Shinde.
