Mandar Jadhav debuts on Zee Marathi as Vedant Patwardhan in Dhakatya Sunbai

Actor Mandar Jadhav, known for his work in several Marathi serials, is set to appear before audiences in a new Zee Marathi serial. In "Dhakatya Sunbai", Mandar will play the lead character named Vedant Patwardhan. On this occasion, Mandar spoke openly about the role.

Asked how he got the role, Mandar said the serial is made by Kothare Vision, with whom his relationship is like family. When the role came to him, there was no question of refusing, since he enjoys working with them a great deal and their way of working is very good. So, without thinking too much, he immediately said yes.

Asked about his experience of working with Zee Marathi for the first time, Mandar said his career actually began with the Zee family, so it feels like he has returned to his own family. Few people would know that his career began with Zee TV Hindi, after which he moved to Marathi serials. This opportunity had not come up in all these years, but this time everything seems to have fallen into place.

On the character of Vedant Patwardhan and his own similarities with him, Mandar said Vedant is an educated, well-mannered young man of today's generation. He loves his family deeply, respects everyone, but is equally firm in his stance. Mandar said every mother would want such a son, every sister would want such a brother, and every girlfriend would want such a boyfriend. Most importantly, Vedant cannot tolerate injustice or cruelty toward anyone, even if it means going against his own family. Mandar added that his own similarity with the character is that he too is equally firm about his stance in life and loves himself, and that taking care of oneself along with others is just as important, which is how he is.

Asked why he wanted to take on this role, Mandar said that as an actor he likes accepting challenges. Vedant is completely different from characters he has played before, in look, behaviour and speech, and he worked hard for two months to prepare for the role. Vedant is like today's Gen Z, so his look is completely fresh, and Mandar had to work hard on his diet to get a hero-like appearance. A lot of preparation went into making sure audiences relate to Vedant. Besides this, every actor gives a character their personal touch, and he is putting in similar effort for this role.

His brother Meghan is also playing a character on Zee, and asked about the family's reaction on learning this, Mandar said enthusiastically that everyone's reaction at home was very good. Meghan is doing a wonderful job as Jayant, and now that both brothers will work on the same channel, viewers and family members may get to see the two of them together in some programmes, or perhaps even within an hour-long episode of the serial. Both brothers are hoping for this. It is a matter of joy that this will give them a chance to work together.

Asked what he expects from viewers, Mandar said from the heart that viewers are like his parents, and entertaining them is his job. But if they do not like something, they should convey it to him through any means, and he will certainly try to make changes and will always work to fulfil their expectations. He has no other expectation from viewers except that they give him their full love. "Dhakatya Sunbai" is set to begin on Zee Marathi from September 28, and through this interview Mandar has also appealed to viewers from the heart to watch his serial.
