B. Ravi Joseph of Telangana's Mancherial district has bought a new Honda Activa scooter and paid the entire price in Rs 10 coins. He collected the coins over three years and saved a total of Rs 1.23 lakh. His unusual savings and purchase are being widely discussed on social media.

Saving does not need a big income; a habit of regular saving matters just as much. Joseph, a pastor by profession, showed this. Whenever he bought vegetables, groceries and other household items, he set aside the Rs 10 coins that came back to him as change instead of spending them. The small daily amount grew into substantial savings in three years.

He put together Rs 1,23,000 in all, which meant keeping 12,300 coins. He had begun saving to buy things the family needed. Some family members were initially doubtful how useful the method would be, but later they too backed Joseph's effort.

Joseph already had a motorcycle, but it broke down repeatedly and did not run properly. This led him to decide to buy a new vehicle and use the savings he had kept for years. In the end, he bought the Honda Activa with the money collected in Rs 10 coins.

What set the purchase apart was that the whole amount was paid in coins. According to the showroom manager, Joseph had contacted the dealership about 15 days before buying the scooter to ask whether Rs 10 coins would be accepted. The showroom said yes, after which he arrived with coins worth Rs 1.23 lakh and completed the transaction.

The episode shows the power of regular saving. Even a small amount set aside every day can serve a larger goal with proper planning and patience. Joseph's story can inspire those who want to build a habit of saving.
