Man strangles wife on suspicion over her character, then dies by suicide under train

A man's suspicion about his wife's character has destroyed a family. According to preliminary information, the accused husband kept doubting his wife's character and strangled her to death. He then ended his own life by jumping under a train.

The case came to light on the morning of November 7. The accused has been identified as Majeed Hanif Khan, 50. His wife, Tabbasum Majeed Khan, was 41. It is said that Majeed suspected Tabbasum's character.

Over this suspicion, the couple quarrelled between about 1 am and 5 am. During the quarrel, Majeed strangled Tabbasum and killed her brutally.

After killing his wife, the accused panicked and fled the spot. Soon afterwards, he died by suicide by coming under a train. The wife's murder and the husband's suicide thus took place within the same night and morning.

The couple's 18-year-old son, Rehan Majeed Khan, has filed a complaint with the police. The killing of the mother and the suicide of the father have directly affected the children.

The double tragedy has caused a sensation in the area. Two young children lost both their mother and father in a single night.
