Mahindra is preparing to bring a new compact SUV to the Indian market soon. The model is called the Mahindra Vision S. Its exterior and interior have now appeared in a new spy video, shared by automotive journalist Bunny Punia. The video offers a close look at the vehicle seen during testing.
The SUV was presented as a concept in 2025. Its production model is now likely to be launched in 2027. The company has not yet announced the name, the features or the launch date.
On design, the Vision S has a tall, boxy shape. The front has a grille with wide vertical slats, along with angular lighting elements and a large lower air intake. The top variant is likely to get concept-inspired L-shaped LED lights.
At the sides, it has large wheel arches, body cladding, flush door handles and side steps. At the rear, a spare wheel on the tailgate, vertical tail-lamps and a straight tailgate give the vehicle a traditional SUV look.
In the cabin, the dashboard has two large screens, one for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. It has vertical AC vents and physical buttons for essential functions. The test vehicle also shows a 6-speed manual gearbox and a manual handbrake.
It is not yet clear which variant will get features such as powered seats, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof.
The Mahindra Vision S will be built on the company's NU_IQ modular platform, which can accommodate different powertrains. Petrol and diesel engine options are likely. Hybrid and electric versions have also been discussed, but the company has not confirmed them. Full details of the compact SUV will be clear only after the final specifications are revealed.
