Chandrapur: The state government has granted administrative approval to an estimated expenditure of Rs 21 crore 51 lakh 94 thousand for the remaining construction of the Jiwati rural hospital. This is the third phase of the project. The public health department issued the Government Resolution (GR) on October 23, 2026.
Jiwati in Chandrapur district is a remote hill area. The balance work on the main building of the rural hospital there and the construction of staff residences are to be carried out in this third phase. The government has now given its approval for this. The decision opens the way for people in the remote area to get modern, good healthcare facilities.
According to the Government Resolution, the sanctioned amount will be used to complete the remaining work on the first floor of the hospital's main building. Multi-storey residences of Type-2 and Type-4 will also be built for medical officers and staff.
The new building will have internal and external electrical fittings, a fire-fighting system, central air conditioning (HVAC), modern lifts, a solar energy project, CCTV and internet-LAN facilities. The hospital will also get an oxygen pipeline, an easy pathway for the disabled, medical furniture, a retaining wall for security and a water tank with a capacity of 150 kilolitres.
The public health department has directed that all necessary improvements under the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS 2022) be incorporated during construction. To maintain the quality of work, a single e-tender must be floated for the entire work. The technical approval of the Chief Engineer has also been made mandatory.
The hospital will be expanded and will get modern facilities in a remote tehsil such as Jiwati. Thousands of people in the area will not have to travel far for treatment, and the region's health system is expected to improve significantly.
