The second season of the series will have 25 episodes, released weekly, and a teaser showing Draupadi's disrobing and Lord Krishna's appearance has been released.

JioHotstar has officially announced the second season of its popular series 'Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh'. The new season will premiere on JioHotstar on November 24.

The season will have 25 episodes in all. New episodes will be released every week, so viewers will see the full story in instalments.

The Mahabharat is counted among the foremost tales that have been handed down through generations and matter as much today. Age-old questions of family, ambition, loyalty, conflict and 'dharma' lie at the heart of the saga. The story shows how human nature and the choices placed before a person shape their future. The grandeur of this epic is now set to arrive once again on the digital screen.

A teaser for the new season was released recently. It offers a glimpse of one of the most decisive and spine-chilling episodes of the Mahabharat. The teaser shows the disrobing of Draupadi and the appearance of Lord Krishna at that very moment. It also carries his message: 'Whenever adharma prevails in excess, I will take avatar'. The message reinforces the core essence of the Mahabharat. This episode sets the backdrop for the conflict in which the war between dharma and adharma decides the future not of one individual but of an entire empire.

The season has been directed by National Award-winning director Rohit Jaisingh Vaid. This part will show the onward journey of the Pandavas. They will have to face the dangers of life, shifting loyalties and the struggle needed to establish their place in the world.

'Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh' is made in partnership between JioStar and Collective Studios Historyverse. Notably, cutting-edge 'AI-powered visualisation' technology has been used to bring the series' characters, grand sets and overall atmosphere to life. Gallery5 has handled the AI technology and production. The series is produced by Vijay Subramaniam.

In all, the new 25-episode season will reach viewers on JioHotstar from November 24, with new episodes arriving every week.
