Rijiju said, "The gold medal that Lovlina has won at the Asian Games is a moment of immense pride for the whole country. The skill, patience and hard work she showed in the ring will be a great inspiration for thousands of emerging young athletes in the country."

Rijiju shared a video of the meeting from his official X account. The video shows him welcoming Borgohain and honouring her with a bouquet and a memento. The minister said the sportsmanship, aggression and technical skill she showed in the international ring were a matter of great pride and deserved praise.
