KKR's Abhishek Nair hints at Rohit Sharma offer, batter's reply goes viral

Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma is set to make his television debut with his own show, Family Full House With Rohit Sharma. A video from the show's first episode is going viral on social media, in which KKR head coach Abhishek Nair appeared to indirectly offer Rohit a spot in his team, prompting a reaction from Rohit that has since been widely shared online.

Abhishek Nair, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur appeared as guests on the episode, a promo of which has been circulating on social media. In the clip, Rohit is seen dressed in yellow. Nair, KKR's head coach and a former assistant coach of the Indian team, teased Rohit by chanting "CSK, CSK." He then suggested that Rohit would look good in purple and gold, KKR's colours, effectively hinting that Rohit should join Kolkata Knight Riders. Fans reacted quickly to the suggestion, breaking into chants of "Mumbai, Mumbai" instead. Rohit won everyone over with a single-word reply: "Forever." The response made clear that he remains loyal to Mumbai Indians and intends to keep playing for the team in the IPL, with no plans to switch sides at present.

A post sharing the promo described it as one where friendship is solid and the roasting is solid too. Family Full House With Rohit Sharma airs on Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:30 pm, exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.

Rohit Sharma has been part of Mumbai Indians since 2011 and led the team to five IPL titles between 2013 and 2020. He has played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL for the past 16 years. With his career in its final phase, his remark suggests he intends to play his last IPL match for Mumbai Indians as well.

KKR need a new captain after Ajinkya Rahane's retirement, but Rohit remains with Mumbai Indians for now. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Hardik Pandya could join KKR through a trade.
