Kia India has reached another milestone in the Indian car market. The company sold 32,017 vehicles in September 2026, its highest monthly sales since it entered India.

The company had sold 22,700 units in September last year, a rise of 41 per cent this time.

Sales also rose month on month. Kia sold 29,042 units in August 2026, and September sales were 10.2 per cent higher, meaning the company sold about 3,000 more vehicles in a single month.

The Seltos and the Sonet account for a large share of the company's total sales. Since its launch in January, the Seltos has averaged more than 10,000 units a month. The Sonet continues to perform well in the sub-compact SUV segment. These two SUVs are giving Kia strong volumes in the Indian market.

In the July-September 2026 quarter (Q3), Kia sold 89,259 units, against 64,443 units in the same period last year. Between January and September 2026, the company's total sales reached 2,53,008 units, against 2,06,582 units a year earlier, a rise of 22.5 per cent.

Kia is steadily adding options to its model line-up. Alongside the Carens, Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV, the Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG are now available. The Syros EV is also seeing demand. The company is expanding its portfolio with petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric powertrains.

The company has said the recently launched Sorento has also drawn a good response. In India, the SUV comes with diesel and hybrid powertrains, which has further strengthened Kia's presence in the premium SUV segment. September's sales of 32,017 units have now become the company's new monthly sales benchmark.
