Russell's viper rescued from Kendriya Vidyalaya classroom in Nagpur's Hingna
Students noticed movement near a window during class at the CRPF camp area school; a snake rescuer caught the highly venomous snake and released it in a forest.
A Russell's viper was rescued from a classroom at the Kendriya Vidyalaya in the CRPF camp area at Hingna in Nagpur on Tuesday morning.
At around 9.30 am, during a lesson, children sensed movement near a window and told their teacher. When the teacher went to the window, a large snake was seen. Teachers immediately informed snake rescuer Akash Meshram, who reached the school and safely rescued it.
The snake turned out to be a Russell's viper, considered a highly venomous species. Its bite could have been fatal. It was caught and released in a forest. Children and teachers then breathed easy.
This is the second recent instance of a snake being found in a classroom.
