Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Ambadas Danve met the family of Pradip Purnekar. Former MP Rajan Vichare was also present at the meeting. Afterwards, Danve held a press conference and raised serious questions about the state government and the police investigation.

Danve's first demand was that the call detail records (CDR) of the accused in the case be thoroughly examined. He said the CDRs of everyone named in the FIR should be checked. Danve alleged that the investigating agency was not working properly. He asked who was putting pressure on the officers conducting the probe.

Danve also targeted Eknath Shinde. He said, "Where have those who consider themselves saviours gone? Such a big party worker was murdered, so why did they not come here?"

Danve made another allegation. According to him, the office of Santosh Shirke, an office-bearer who worked with Pradip Purnekar, had been put under reconnaissance. Danve claimed he has video and CCTV evidence of this.

He warned that if the investigating agencies did not probe properly, the evidence he holds would be presented in the High Court. Danve also demanded that the investigation be handed to an impartial officer and that the case be tried in a fast-track court.

The government has set up an SIT in the case. Even so, Danve remarked that the situation had not improved as it should have. Saying the accused must get severe punishment, he demanded that the guilty be hanged.

Danve said the Home Department is with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, so he should personally look into the matter and ensure justice. He made clear that he would soon meet the Chief Minister along with the Purnekar family.

Danve also issued a direct warning: "If the Chief Minister does not give justice, we have other doors."
