Jeep launches Compass Sport 9AT, its cheapest automatic Compass in India, at Rs 21.99 lakh

Jeep India today announced the launch of the Compass Sport FWD with a 9-speed automatic transmission. According to the company, it is the most affordable automatic Jeep Compass launched in India so far.

The automatic option is available for the first time in the entry-level variant of the Compass line-up. Customers who want the Compass's distinctive design, performance and character now have a more affordable route to it.

The new Compass Sport 9AT has a 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine that produces 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The 9-speed automatic transmission paired with it is designed to deliver smooth and easy performance in everyday driving. Preference for automatic transmissions is growing steadily among customers who want more comfort on daily commutes.

Speaking on the launch, Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director of Automotive Brands at Stellantis India, said: "The Compass has always put Jeep's true capability, distinctive design and confidence-inspiring driving experience at the forefront. By bringing a 9-speed automatic transmission to the Compass Sport, we are making this experience more affordable than before."

Over the past few years, the Compass has combined Jeep's distinctive design and commanding road presence with technology, comfort and dependable driving dynamics. On this strength it has carved out a distinct place in India's premium SUV market. The Compass Sport 9AT offers a number of strong technology, safety and convenience features. The vehicle has 6 airbags, auto hold and cruise control. It also gets a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls and power-adjustable door mirrors.

The Compass Sport has Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension to deliver a balanced ride on different kinds of roads. It also has Dynamic Steering Torque (DST) for confident and responsive handling.

Customers can personalise their Compass Sport 9AT further with an optional accessory pack priced at Rs 29,900. The pack has selected accessories that enhance style, convenience and everyday use: ambient lighting, a dashcam, a swoosh decal, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.

The full Jeep Compass portfolio offers customers a choice of 2WD and 4WD drivetrains with manual and automatic transmissions, so that everyone can pick a Compass to suit their driving needs and preferences. The Jeep Compass Sport 9AT is priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries will begin from the second week of November at all Jeep dealerships and Stellantis brand houses in India.
