Keeping lush green plants at home has long been considered auspicious according to Vastu Shastra. These plants are believed to not only enhance the beauty of a home but also help maintain a positive atmosphere. Among such plants is the jade plant, which people often keep at home or in offices. Besides Vastu Shastra, Feng Shui also considers this plant lucky, and it is said that keeping it at home brings happiness, prosperity and money. But when this same jade plant starts to dry up or its leaves start turning yellow, it can be a sign of several things. So if your jade plant suddenly starts turning yellow, Vastu Shastra lays down some rules for it.

First, a yellowing jade plant is believed to signal a shortage of money, meaning money-related troubles may lie ahead. On the other hand, a lush green jade plant is believed to bring prosperity to the home.

The second reason is said to be linked to negative energy. If the jade plant is turning yellow or deteriorating, it is considered a sign of rising negative energy in the home. It is said that homes with more negativity tend to see more quarrels and tension.

The third aspect concerns health and relationships. If a jade plant kept in the east direction of the home is turning yellow, one should be cautious. A plant turning yellow in this direction can indicate that a family member's health may deteriorate, and it is also said to signal discord in relationships.

Now, on how to avoid this. The jade plant should always be kept in the east or northeast direction, as this direction is considered auspicious for the plant. If the plant is kept near the main gate, that spot should be kept completely clean, and shoes or slippers should never be left there.

The jade plant should never be kept in direct sunlight. It is best kept in mild sunlight for about 3 to 4 hours daily. The correct way to water it is to water the plant only when the top layer of soil appears dry. Leaves that have turned completely yellow or withered should be gently trimmed off.
