Tension has flared again in Syria's southwestern Daraa province after Israeli military activity in the area. Local sources said Israeli troops advanced while firing in the Wadi al-Rukkad area, in the western rural part of Daraa province.

According to information from the scene, several Israeli military vehicles entered the area. The activity has once again put the security situation in southern Syria in focus.

Reports said three Israeli military vehicles entered the Wadi al-Rukkad area and were then stationed near a bridge over the Rukkad river. Firing was reported in the area for some time, with shots fired towards farmland. Some reports said three rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) rounds were also fired towards empty fields afterwards.

No casualties have been reported in the incident. Some local reports suggested the activity could have been part of a military drill.

Alongside the Daraa incident, Israeli military activity was also reported in Syria's Quneitra province. Some military vehicles entered Syrian territory via the Abu al-Ghithar route and were stationed for some time in the western part of Saida al-Hanout before withdrawing.

Incidents of Israeli military incursions and operations have continued to be reported in the Daraa and Quneitra areas in recent times, keeping the situation in southern Syria under continuous watch.

The situation in southern Syria has changed significantly since the change of power in the country. The Israeli military has maintained its presence in Syria's border areas, with occasional firing, shelling and military patrols reported in the Daraa and Quneitra areas.

The latest activity in Wadi al-Rukkad has brought tensions in the area back into focus. Such military activity remains a concern for local residents, with attention on how the situation develops.
