iPhone 18 Pro craze: overnight queues outside Apple Stores in Mumbai, Delhi
Buyers camped overnight outside Apple Stores in Mumbai and Delhi ahead of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launch.
Apple's new phone launch has once again triggered a frenzy, with people queuing outside Apple Stores in Mumbai and Delhi from the previous night to get their hands on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The crowds show how many iPhone enthusiasts there are in India, with buyers staying up all night to be among the first to get the new phone.
At the Apple Store inside Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, Delhi, there was a massive crowd from the morning itself, with long queues forming for the iPhone 18 Pro. Some people arrived and sat there from the previous night because they wanted to be among the first 10 buyers. The store was set to open and sales to begin at 8 am, but people had been waiting there since 4-5 am.
The crowd was not just customers, but also included prominent YouTubers and tech reviewers, who wanted to be the first to make a video of the phone and so also spent the night there. Buyers are keen to see the new iPhone's camera, its speed and its new design.
The scene was the same in Mumbai as in Delhi. Outside the Apple Store in Mumbai, it looked like a fair had broken out, with hundreds of people already standing in queue before the store's shutter went up. Many had already paid online and booked their phones in advance, but still came and stood in the morning queue to be the first to get the phone in hand. Some had come with cash, while others were considering buying on EMI, but everyone was determined to buy the phone.
The most important factor now is price. The iPhone 17 launched in India at Rs 82,900. Its 256GB variant is priced at Rs 99,900, while the 512GB variant costs Rs 1,24,900. The company has priced this phone Rs 17,000 higher than the previous model.
The iPhone 16 is now priced at Rs 79,900, with its 128GB model available for Rs 89,900. Despite the high prices, people's craze for iPhones shows no sign of slowing. Whether old or new, when it comes to iPhones, people are ready to spend, as the overnight crowds once again demonstrated.
