IndiGo cuts Navi Mumbai flights, moves some routes to Mumbai's main airport
IndiGo is trimming services from Navi Mumbai International Airport and shifting some routes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport under its Winter 2026 schedule.
IndiGo has cut flights operating from Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). The change comes before the airport has completed a year of operations. Flights on some routes have been moved back to Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
IndiGo is reworking its NMIA services under its "Winter 2026" schedule. From October 25, 2026, the company plans to reduce capacity on several routes or divert them elsewhere. The changes are said to have been made after considering passenger demand, the slots available at the airport (the times for aircraft to take off and land), flight planning and aircraft rotation.
Under the revised schedule, IndiGo will stop services from Navi Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram, Siliguri-Bagdogra and Kannur. Flights to Kochi and Madurai may also be paused for some time. The changes will also reduce the number of routes IndiGo operates from the new airport.
IndiGo also plans to move some key routes from Navi Mumbai to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Flights linking Navi Mumbai with Visakhapatnam, Ghaziabad-Hindon and Jabalpur will shift to Mumbai's main airport. One reason behind the decision is that international flights from Navi Mumbai airport are currently limited, making it hard for some passengers to connect to international flights.
IndiGo will, however, continue regional flights from Navi Mumbai. The company plans to keep three ATR turboprop aircraft stationed at the airport, serving destinations such as Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Diu. It will also increase capacity on some routes from Navi Mumbai, such as Nagpur, Jodhpur and Lucknow. This shows IndiGo is not withdrawing entirely from the airport but changing its network according to demand and operational needs.
Earlier, IndiGo had expanded its network from this airport and added several domestic destinations. Between March and April 2026, the company had also announced more than 30 new routes from Navi Mumbai.
IndiGo's latest schedule changes show that airlines regularly adjust their networks after reviewing passenger demand and operating conditions. Further changes may follow depending on how these routes perform during the winter schedule.
