Lakshya Sen opened the tie with a fine performance. Playing against Bangladesh's Ayman Ibn Zaman, Lakshya was in complete control in the first set, winning it by a big margin of 21-4 with a string of powerful shots. He kept up the momentum to win the second set 21-12, giving India a 1-0 lead. Zaman could not withstand Lakshya's powerful smashes.
In the second match, Ayush Shetty put in a superb performance. Ayush, who drew attention with his strong showing at the BWF World Championship, completely dominated Bangladesh's Gaurav Singha, giving him no chance to make a comeback. Ayush won the first set 21-4 and the second 21-13 to take India's lead to 2-0.
In the third and final match, Kidambi Srikanth put in the best performance of the tie. He sealed India's win by beating Bangladesh's Jumar Al-Amin. Srikanth briefly lost his rhythm in the first set but recovered quickly to win it 21-15. In the second set, he gave Jumar no chance of a comeback, winning 21-10 to confirm Bangladesh's defeat.
With this win, the Indian men's team has secured its place in the quarterfinals. India will face Japan on Tuesday in the quarterfinal tie. If the Indian team wins that match, its medal will be confirmed.
