The ODI and T20 series between India and the West Indies is over. India won the ODI series 2-1, while the T20 series was drawn 2-2. Team India's next assignment is a major tour of New Zealand.

A total of 12 matches will be played across the three formats: five T20 Internationals, five ODIs and two Tests. The tour begins on October 22, with the T20 series first, followed by the ODI series and finally the Test series.

The T20 International series, the opening leg of the tour, will be played from October 22 to November 1, 2026. The first two matches will be in Christchurch. The two teams will then meet in Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton. All T20 International matches will start at 12.30 pm Indian Standard Time. Young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been selected for this series, which will be led by Shreyas Iyer. He will now be seen showing his explosive batting in New Zealand.

After the T20 series, the two teams will play a five-match ODI series between November 4 and November 15. The first three matches will be played in Auckland, Wellington and Hamilton. The last two will be at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. All ODI matches will start at 7.30 am IST. Experienced players such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen in action.

The final leg of the tour will be the most exciting, as India and New Zealand will play a two-match Test series between November 19 and December 1, 2026. The series is very important for India in view of the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. By winning the series, India will have a chance to improve their position on the points table.

The first Test will be played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington from November 19 to 23. The second will be at Hagley Oval in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1. The Test matches will start at 3.30 pm IST.
