Spain's Eugenio Chacarra won the DP World India Championship, holding on to the position he had built in the third round. It is his third title of the 2026 season on the DP World Tour.

With the win, Chacarra has jumped towards the top of the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai rankings. Only two tournaments remain, in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In the race for the rankings to be announced at the end of the season, Chacarra has taken a lead over his closest rivals, Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy.

The tournament was played at Delhi Golf Club, with prize money of $4 million. The final day was a hectic one for all the players.

Chacarra completed the remaining 7 holes of the third round with 3 birdies and an eagle, finishing 5 under. His cards over the four rounds were 67, 67, 63 and 70. At 21 under overall, he finished one shot ahead of Tommy Fleetwood's strong performance. Chacarra made 24 birdies and 1 eagle in all, along with 5 bogeys.

New Zealand's Daniel Hillier finished second at 19 under. After the 9th hole he had taken a two-shot lead, which jolted Chacarra. But Chacarra fought hard to the end and won the title. In the final round he kept a 5-shot lead and shot 63 without a single bogey. He did this despite a serious toe injury.

Meanwhile, DP World, the world's leading smart logistics company, announced that it will sponsor the tournament until 2035. This has brought cheer to Indian golf. Until 2035 the tournament will be known as the DP World Championship.

Chacarra said the title, won after four hard rounds and a tough contest over the past few weeks, is very precious to him. He said he wants to be on the team for next year's Ryder Cup and has already told European captain Luke Donald so. According to Chacarra, making that team is truly challenging and he is working very hard for it.
