How to ask Google to remove your personal information from search results

The internet and smartphones have become an important part of everyone's life. People use phones and the internet for different tasks through the day, and log in to many websites and apps to do so. Logging in to websites and apps such as Google is now very common.

But many personal details get saved on the internet this way. These include not only mobile numbers but also email IDs, home addresses and other private information.

At times, the same information shows up in Google Search, which can put users' privacy and security at risk. There is no need to panic, however, as Google allows its users to request that some personal details be removed from search results. A single request can get your data removed from Google Search.

If your personal information is appearing in Google Search, an online request can be sent to have it removed. To do this, first go to Google's Results about you tool. Here users can track search results linked to their personal details and, if they wish, send a request to remove some personal information from the same place.

To do so, log in to your Google account and open the Results about you feature. Then enter your details, such as name, mobile number, email ID and home address. If these details appear in any search result, review it and send a removal request.

Further, if sensitive personal information about you is appearing in Google Search, you can also make a request through Google's personal information removal page. After reviewing your request, Google decides whether the information can be removed from search results.

Keep one thing in mind. Information being removed from Google Search does not mean it has been deleted from the internet altogether. It may still be present on the website where the details were originally posted.

It is therefore important to remain careful when using the internet. Before logging in to any website, one should check it thoroughly.
