The festival season has begun, and copper and brass vessels stored away at home are being brought out again. These vessels are not used daily, so they are taken out only during festivals, and then begins the task of cleaning them thoroughly.

Months of disuse leave the vessels covered in grime and a black layer that takes considerable effort to remove. But a simple home remedy can restore their shine in just a few minutes. All it takes is a magic liquid prepared at home. Here is how to make it.

To make this liquid, take a container and add one spoon of salt, three spoons of citric acid or lemon peel, or three spoons of lemon juice, and three spoons of white vinegar. Mix all these ingredients well and then add a little water to prepare the liquid.

This homemade liquid can easily clean bronze, copper and brass vessels. Cleaning with it does not take much effort. Pour the prepared liquid onto the vessel and gently scrub it with a scrubber. After scrubbing for a few minutes, the black layer comes off easily. Then wash the vessel well with water, wipe it with a cloth, and it is ready for use in worship.

To clean and shine an idol of a deity, Pitambari powder is useful. A paste can be made by mixing it with curd and dry mango powder along with a little water. Rub the idol thoroughly with this paste using your hands, then wash it with water to see the shine.
