Hero MotoCorp lines up new bikes: Karizma XMR 250, XPulse 421 and more
Hero MotoCorp is reportedly preparing a fresh lineup spanning a sports bike, a big adventure motorcycle, a dual-sport model and an electric bike.
Demand for premium and adventure motorcycles is rising in the Indian market, and Hero MotoCorp appears to be preparing a major expansion in this segment through its upcoming models. The company's coming lineup is said to include a sports bike, a big adventure motorcycle, a dual-sport model and even an electric motorcycle. Some of these models are close to launch, while details on others are still at an early stage.
The most talked-about model is the Hero Karizma XMR 250. This bike has already been spotted in India, including a version that appears production-ready. It is believed to get a 249cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine similar to the Xtreme 250R, capable of generating around 30 hp and 25 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. On features, the Karizma XMR 250 may get USD front forks, a monoshock, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-channel ABS and a TFT display. Its price is expected to be more than Rs 2 lakh.
The second major bike will be the Hero XPulse 421, expected to arrive as the company's big adventure motorcycle. Reports say testing of this model is underway at various locations and its development is well advanced. The XPulse 421 may get a new platform and a liquid-cooled engine of around 421cc capacity. Given its adventure-riding focus, it may also feature long-travel suspension and a trellis frame. A large TFT display, riding modes and cruise control are also expected among its modern features. The bike's global debut could take place at EICMA 2026, while its India launch is expected around late 2026 or early 2027.
In another update, Hero MotoCorp has also filed a design patent for a small-capacity dual-sport motorcycle in India. This model is said to feature an air-cooled engine, a kick-starter and conventional hardware, with an engine capacity likely between 150cc and 200cc. However, the filing of a patent alone does not confirm that this bike will definitely launch in India, since the model could also be developed for export markets.
The company is also said to be preparing to enter the electric motorcycle segment. There is particular market talk around a model called the "Splendor Electric," which could be introduced around 2027. However, the company has not yet announced any official price, range or launch date for this electric bike, so it should be treated as a possible future update for now.
Taken together, the Karizma XMR 250, XPulse 421, the dual-sport bike and the possible electric model make clear that Hero MotoCorp is preparing significant changes to its motorcycle portfolio in the coming period. However, the full picture on launch dates, pricing and final specifications will only become clear once the company shares official information.
